Dikom is one of the oldest tea gardens in Eastern Assam, India (see picture). Some tea bushes were planted 150 years ago. This Second Flush Assam (picked in June/July) is hearty and rich with a characteristic malty note. This tea is the product of a happy accident. Green Chinese Mao Feng was mixed with black Indian Assam by mistake. The result surprised everybody and after a bit of tweaking, we found the right formula. The lower brewing temperature of 80°C allows the green tea to shine through but the Assam gives this blend more substance and body without overpowering the more subtle Mao Feng.
